Museum of Contemporary Art

Museum of Contemporary Art

If you take a walk through Ušće Park, at one point you will come across an unusual building that somewhat resembles an unusual diamond. It is the building of the Museum of Contemporary Art, the only museum in Belgrade located near the Sava River. The building itself is a masterpiece of Yugoslav architecture and an anthological piece of work in local architecture. It is also the first building in Belgrade to be purpose-built as a museum.

It holds collections of paintings back from the year 1900 and onward, sculptures, etchings, and drawings, but also contemporary art media such as photography and film. The museum was opened on October 20, 1965, and is still open today. For more detailed information click here.
